I would like to ask every one to please not buy pets for Christmas gifts. It's a very personal choice and should be considered very carefully. I used to volunteer at a pet shelter in my area. The number of animals that were surrendered to the shelter only months after Christmas were heart breaking. Especially dogs still in their puppy stage. It just wasn't fair. So please. Keep this in mind if you're thinking of buying a pet as a Christmas present. Be absolutely it will kept and loved with a forever family.

I would never give a pet as a Christmas gift. We don't have pets and nor do we want any. People do need to realise the commitment they are taking on and the responsibility they have with taking on a pet, otherwise they become part of the problem. I am totally against taking on a rescue dog or an animal from a shelter as that would be me taking on a problem created by someone else. No thanks, not my problem.
