I have heard of the turf melting in certain temperatures. I don’t think it’s a great thing to have.

In QLD, no! It gets way to hot to walk on.

I have considered this, due to being a dog owner. I have not heard good things.

I really don't see them as environmentally friendly. Expensive to install, don't last that long as they disintegrate, use chemicals to manufacture. What do we do with them when they are no longer wanted? I also don't want to breathe in and unknowingly digest small plastic particles that are floating in the air because of our overuse of plastics like in synthetic turf. I wouldn't have a fake lawn and I have seen fake lawns infested with weeds as well as being unusable by people due to how much heat they absorb.

NO. Just another form of pollution. A nice lawn is easy to maintain and pretty hard to beat. Why breath in fumes from heated plastic?? Not for me.
