We are quite insignificant when it comes to foreign policy, we seem to follow the USA line.

I don't think the general Australian voter even knows about support or voting for a Palestinian state. If you asked a given number about how Australia voted on this issue, I would be surprised if more than a couple of percent would even know what is being asked, let alone what Australia's stance is.
