Hi. I promised my wife that I would take her to see Gracelands about 20 years ago and now she has decided the time is right. Planning to go in September 13, but seem to have very little info at the travel agencies I have looked into. Most did not even know that you can fly direct to Dallas/FortWorth in Texas. Has anybody been there and willing to share some tips/places. Was thinking of flying to dallas..then drive.
Any advice??? Thanks

Hi ..we went to Memphis 2 yrs ago and loved it. If you're a die-hard Elvis fan try to book accommodation at the Heartbreak Hotel (prices are very reasonable) - it is sort of across the road from Gracelands and next door to all the Elvis attractions, and is very Elvis themed. They also run a daily shuttle to and from the city centre, with stops at Sun Studio and close to Beale St.
Sorry can't help with the driving part. I also recommend the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks, and the Civil Rights Museum. Hope this helps.. I know you'll have a fantastic time.

HI
Go in August: for the anniversary celebrations its the best time of the year to go I have been several times. Stay closer to Memphis City than Graceland area and commute to Elvis Presley Boulevard area.
Be sure to go see the Peebody hotel and the ducks in the lobby that march up the red carpet to bed at the end of every day:
Be sure to do Beale street and also a paddle steamer down the mississippi river
Elvis week there is so much to see and do so much entertainement and the place is just alive . You can fly into Memphis also. no yóu cna't fly direct to Dallas you have enter the usa via San francisco or Los Angeles then fly onto any state you wish to visit. You also have to have a visa now for usa . and an international drivers licence if you wish to hire and drive in the usa .

I have travelled to usa 7 times
