How come we have to pay so much for the NZ made produce when Aust doesn't have GST on their home grown products. We should have a lower GST/ No GST on our goods. Making it easier for families to have good health food for there meals and supporting the local producers as well.

Aust does not have GST on anything in it's raw state, not to mention woman supplies for her period etc.... as these are all not considered luxuries.

Since we have relocated to NZ I have queried our local supermarket why is it I can buy USA kiwifruit but not NZ kiwifruit. There response was that NZ is unable to supply enough to satisfy the NZ demand. I was floored....REALLY????

I am amazed at the local prices of food, cafe and of course eating out.

We now pay about $80- $100 a week more for groceries since moving here and I can not work out why. In Australia you buy NZ cheese and butter cheaper than you can here not to mention countless other items.

Something is not right, perhaps it is just because it is easier to have a monopoly on the market here and hence prices get driven up.
