My wife recently took me out for my birthday at a 5 star hotel in the city. The buffet was excellent, but the experience was somewhat soured when we were charged $10.00 for a glass of watermelon juice & $6.50 for a cup of coffee. How can this be justified?

What difference where it is?

There are over-the-top Restaurants/Hotels everywhere.

You should know what to expect and don't forget you're paying for the ambiance, their overheads etc..

That's one reason that BYO restaurants are so big in Melbourne.
Why pay triple reatil prices for a good red, when you can bring your own and pay a nominal corkage fee?.

As an aside .. who drinks watermelon juice?
