Hi, have just moved in with my man, and he cant cook really and hes good when he cooks but makes a mess and doesnt want to learn the basics. How about sharing some basic dinner recipes for the man!?

I got my recipe from an Italian landlady I had years ago. Had to scale it down 'cause it was meant to feed about 20. Biggest pot I ever made was about four kilos - I wanted enough left over to make a lasagna the next night but by lunch time the greedy buggers had eaten the lot. I think it provided about 12 servings - seven for dinner, one breakfast and four lunches - for under $20

My recipe takes about 3 hours, but most of that is just festering on the stove. There's three secrets (according to my landlady): use one quarter pork mince, add a cup of milk for every kilo of meat and let it simmer for at least an hour and a half (basically, when you start to get oil separating out and floating on top it's done). Otherwise it's just like every other from-scratch recipe.
