Considering how large Queensland is, how much of it have you been to? Visiting the Whitsundays in November I was absolutely delilghted with the Barrier Reef which comes under the heading of "has to be seen to be believed". One day I will get to the areas up north and then work my way down south.

Thats ok Goulah, I understand your concerns, thats why I sleep in my campervan, and have the pyrethrin fly spray at hand for ants and other pesky /dangers like wasps. I am all for 'hot showers' too . I invested in a 12volt shower - pump that uses a bucket of hot water. It's easy enough to heat up a kettle of hot water with a gas camp stove.
Still I would love to be able to intersperse these forays into nature with a few more opportunities to enjoy the creature comforts with those ''conveniences'' you mention.
Enjoy exploring, that's half the fun.
