Discussion: Microwave oven recipes.
Hi. I recently purchased a microwave. Does any one have any simple, cheap recipes they would like to share. I am particularly interested in meals for two people but even if the recipe is for a larger amount I'm still interested. Looking forward to your favourite microwave recipes.

Hello Hilary,
Welcome to CAFE CHAT!
I don't profess to be an expert in any way or form, but, I DO know I will NEVER, EVER prepare ANY of my Food in a Microwave!
In the early days of Microwaved meals, I knew nothing at all about them. They were very new and very quick. I had a meal at a Take Aways one day, and it was indescribable. Something about it just wasn't right, and I never had any of their meals again.
I remember reading somewhere that you must NEVER, EVER microwave a Baby's meal or drink. The reason being that all the Goodness that a Baby needs is destroyed in the microwaving process. And it also said that the same thing goes for ALL meals done in a microwave.
Even more shocking was the story about a patient in a hospital who died on the table because some clown had the bright idea to warm COLD BLOOD in a microwave before it was transferred to the patient. From the Pre-Transfusion Sample they found out why. EVERY Blood Cell and ALL its components were DESTROYED and therefore was NO LONGER BLOOD!! Hence, the patient's demise.
If THAT happens to Blood, imagine what it does to your Food!!
What I read further was, when Food is done in the microwave, it is TOTALLY DESTROYED at the Molecular level by the Microwaving process. This happens because the molecules in the Water are vibrating so fast that HEAT is created, and that is what does the "Cooking." The side effect is, EVERYTHING is destroyed. Vitamins, Enzymes, etc. that benefit us from our Food. It may still LOOK like Food, Smell like Food, Taste like Food, Feel like Food, but, it is just a useless mess. You would be starving if you ate like this every day.
I have a huge Commercial Microwave here, that my sister gave my parents, and al I use it for is to place clean Jars into to STERILISE them, whenever I make Jams, etc. Or, to reheat cold Tea. . . WITHOUT the added Milk, of course. After all, in this case it is only WATER in the cup. Right now, though, its just being used as a "Cupboard" to keep some jars of Olives in, and my Eggs.
I can only offer the only proof that this would be true would lie in finding out what would happen if you tried it out somehow by eating the SAME Meals for Two Months. For the first Month you have them Microwaved. For the Second Month, you fix the problem by eating them cooked the Normal way.
IF anything was happening to you during the first month, weight loss, etc., make notes of it. This should be proof enough that the nutrients you SHOULD be getting are being destroyed by the microwave cooking process. In the following month, you should return to Normal, because ALL the Essential Nutrients you require are intact and you will be once more benefitting from them.
The other very scary thing about mirowaves is, they are VERY DANGEROUS!!
You MUST be very careful when heating water in a microwave.
Someone put a cup of water in the microwave to heat for some tea, and after a minute, checked it to see if it was hot. They didn'tsee any steam, so they put it back for another minute, with the same result. They tried it again, and after another minute, they decided to get it out and boil it instead. But. . . instead of a cup of COLD water, it was SUPER HEATED STEAM!! THe moment they touched the cup and disturbed the water, it SUDDENLY EXPLODED into a cloud of Steam and cup pieces. The injuries were horrific!
THAT is why I don't trust microwaves, and I advise you to take extreme care when using your one. Prefeably JUST to sterilise Jars, etc.
Be very careful!!
