Yes, chia, often sold under the 'Salba' flag, is a great addition sprinkled on muesli. It has been described as a Superfood. The Mayan, Aztec and Inca peoples used it as a staple. Their message-carriers, long-distance runners, often carried only a small leather pouch of seed to sustain them, while running for several days*. Hard to sprout, though. It goes 'slimy' quickly. If anyone knows the secret to successfully sprouting chia, I'd appreciate it... .
* May have spilled some of it, too. Often found growing wild beside central American trails and mountain tracks!
