Does everyone understand the meaning of the grades posted outside restaurants and eateries? Would a national grading schene be better than what exists now? Do you think we should be able to access more information about the results of inspections by EHO's?

There are no gradings apart from the chefs hats i think it would be ok to access the records from a place that has been closed temporarily to see what the owner or staff have done wrong .Health inspectors have to find something even if the place is spotless its there job and just because its not on a report doesnt mean the place is ok to eat at. I started work at a place and was horrified to see the food standards of the staff there even though the kitchen itself was clean.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I have never noticed any grading system shown for restaurants and eateries, apart from things like how many stars they have received in the latest Age Good Food Guide or an award from the local council or something like that. What grading system is there currently? I eat out a lot, but have never noticed any particular grading system...

I mean one would think to not come out f a restaurant and leave with food poisoning right ? So in that i think it would be wise that we see the inspection of the EHO's, and i think if we just had a scheme that allows us and the providers to come to some sort of compromise or even trial a national scheme the hospitality industry can grow even further. The thing is im New and No i don't know alot about the grades, but i understand it too a certain extent. im probably making no sense whatsoever but that's my opinion.

I have to agree, I have never seen or noticed any gradings of anything except some sort of awards for business or goog food guide. I will look a lot closer from now on.
