Well now what was all the hype about? I sat through the noisy over-the-top movie the other night and really why is it the biggest box office movie this year??
I like dinosaurs as much as the next guy, but seriously why spend millions on making a movie about big lizards eating each other and people? This movie was not good, I have seen the previous ones and they were not much either. At the cost of movie going I will be much more selective.
Have you seen it? what did you think?

I haven't bothered to watch any of them, from what I have heard they are noisy and a bit far over the top.

I really quite loved it. I believe it made up for the poor quality of the third film, and for me it was a beautiful ending to a series I'd grown up with. However, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of effort the animators put into the film. The CGI, whilst still pretty great, was also kind of terrible. The dinosaurs in the original film looked more lively than these ones!
This said, though, I still wouldn't mind watching it a few more times!

i too am a little (or rather honestly a heck of a lot) unhappy as the movie may have had good actors in, but were in badly directed roles. not to mention the overly predictableness of the entire thing, for instance: when they were moving through the (no spoilers here) "area" chasing "the Thing" with the "smaller Things" and riding their "things" they didn't once encounter a log or a low branch, vine or anything to obstruct their movement. now in reality if walking through a forest or bush land you will likely need to move a few low hangers :o

I have yet to see the first one so I'm certainly not going to watch this one. Not a fan of this type of film...I agree, it's so expensive now, you have to do research to lessen the odds of watching a dud movie.
