Replies 2Discussion: Laser eye surgery gone wrong!
Laser Eye Surgery I also had to have laser eye surgery after 45 years as my eyes started rejecting contacts. It was unsuccessful the first time so had another! I now have shocking night vision which isnt helped with glasses and if tired can't see properly. Unfortunately I have experienced problems with my eyes ever since and although its great not having to put in contacts its worrying I may have damaged my eyes permanently. The doctor in question is only interested in a good reputation and money. And told me there was nothing wrong with my sight! He offered to do it a third time tho! Then I was told I was too shortsighted and too old and that is why I am having problems. Beware

I think these day's with so many wonderful and nice looking frames around for glasses I think I'm happy with that. I have worn glasses for 10 or so years and I do not even wear contacts,do not like them.So I'll stick to spectacles thanks.

I already suffer terribly - even in shopping centres the lights are too bright, and I can't go anywhere without my prescription sunglasses! LASIK makes this even worse, so I am obviously not a candidate - but I could go ahead despite the side effects - but then I could not complain if it got worse.
You should have been warned of all the possible side effects of the surgery - but it is also up to anyone considering this kind of drastic surgery to do as much research as they can before weighing up the positives against the possible negatives. This is the duty of care of anyone considering life-altering surgery of any kind, but especially something as potentially devastating as eye surgery where the side effects can be as serious as complete blindness.
I am sorry you are now having such problems. I have every sympathy for you. I would hate for my eyes to be any worse than they currently are (aside from normal myopic changes which I have no control over), so i can empathise with your situation. It is sad that it has come to this point. *hugs*
