I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Australia!
I think some of the campaigns such as "travel here this year" have done a great job of making me think a little more about all the beautiful sights and landscapes we have in our own background and really need to appreciate more. So far I've been to Brisbane and I've booked in to see family in Tassie and off to Sydney for the Opera in October!
With so many of our own towns and cities desperate for tourism income, I'm pretty keen to try and support both the Australian economy and the Australian workers while also seeing my own country :)

Anywhere hahaha, miss travelling so badly! Honestly probably somewhere in South East Asia, really missing not being able to go there. But then it may not be the safest area to be travelling to. Maybe nowhere, not sure that there’s anywhere that is really that safe! I presume once we’ve had the COVID vaccine that we’re pretty well protected but I think wherever I travel I would want there to be a good healthcare system (and definitely top travel insurance).

Once you have the COVID vaccine you are not 'protected' as such. The current vaccines don't prevent you from contracting the disease, but mitigate the effects, so that you won't be "as sick" and in theory are less likely to die from the infection. It isn't an inoculation.

Not travelling anywhere while the potential of snap lock downs could still happen.

If I could travel anywhere it would be to return to Scotland, my place of birth, to visit parents etc. while I still can (nobody is getting any younger). But that will have to wait, possibly for several more years until everybody has calmed down. It isn't just the origin, or the destination, that has to be considered but all of the intermediate points too.

Very good point, I hadn’t even thought about stopovers and routes via other places etc.!

Still waiting for the refunds on three attempted flights to send my Mother-in-Law back to China. She came here in June 2019 for the birth of her grandson & wasn't allowed to return to her home country for over a year and a half past her pre-booked flight (govt cancelled due to covid). As crazy as it sounds, my wife'd like to go back to China to sort things out with the family, financial affairs, etc, but only if this sort of thing doesn't happen again. Me? I'm staying right here - far too much to do around the house. I should have had a break during the lockdown periods, but work only got busier than ever - no sick days & no holidays nor even public holidays off.

If life goes back to pre-covid times, we will return to Fiji or somewhere similar that is affordable for a family of 5. We would also like to visit Tasmania again and the Whitsundays - I realise that these domestic destinations are available to travel to at the moment, however, we are reluctant to make any travel plans involving flights because things can change so quickly and rescheduling holidays can be incredibly difficult/impossible.

Hi, we have not missed out during the border shut downs, only we could not travel overseas. Last year we sent a wonderful 4 weeks in Merimbula before our long shut down happen. Already booked 10 months ago flying, Melbourne to Sydney then connecting to the Indian Pacific train onto Adelaide then onto Perth for a week then flying up to Broome Kimberley's for a week. We have just come home from another 3 weeks away at Merimbula when Melbourne, still had to wear masks. We have only the west to see and Central Australia. About to embark on a road trip along the coast up to Adelaide onto the Northern Territory. We have cruises paid for later in the year booked for Kangaroo Island and for early 2022, cruise to New Zealand. Waiting for international boarders 2023 to escape to Europe again and finish our lazy river cruises and the country side of Tuscany, before we get to old. We have so much travel to catch up with, this virus is not going to hold us back.

Hopefully to New Zealand for some self drive touring next year, have wanted to spend some time there for a long time.
We have a cruise to Cairns booked for later this year, all going to plan. Just some time for ourselves away from the daily grind.

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to see the world. Due to how expensive it was though, we had few options but to camp in our Nan's back yard or stay in a hotel in Surfers Paradise. It wasn't until COVID hit that I realized such places like the backyard or a hotel in a local city could count as being the 'big wide world' and this was only because we were restricted to the place we called home.

As someone who has just started their first year of University and has just graduated high school, I have a lot of plans. Plans to get an education, get a career, and see the world while I do it. So where do I want to go when the world opens up to me again?

Well, the first place I want to visit (no, I have to remind myself that I AM going to visit these places) is Europe. In Paris, France where the word creativity always comes to mind I will open myself up to new and unique artistic pursuits all the while enabling my own talent in creative writing and the arts. In Scotland, I will take my dad so that he can play some of the greatest games of golf on the greatest fields in the world before he would no longer be able to, whistle I discover for myself the great history and lore of Scottish culture that I have always been interested in ever since being told that our family hailed from the country. In Ireland, my dad and I will go to the pubs and share a drink (or rather I will pay for it and he hogs it all) and I will roam the streets, taking in the festive, cheery and lively culture that is the Irish, another part of my family that I had long since discovered. In Italy, where the Renaissance was quite literally born in great arts, literature and architecture, I will go on my own and pursue a master's education in studying the history of the Renaissance in the great cities of where it first came. In Greece, I will explore the beautiful islands and the great foods they have to offer. In England, I will discover the country that makes up one of the biggest international faces in the world.

Then I will turn my gaze to the other side of the world and say 'I am not done with you yet.'

I will brave Russia and continue to pursue my interests in discovering great literature, history, and artistry. I will see Egypt, with its great masses of ancient statues and marks of history that have survived into this modern age.

I'll take my little sisters to Japan, Korea, China, places they have yearned for since learning about the culture and the language in the classrooms at their school. We will go to Disneyland and we will see snow, something me and my sisters have never experienced for ourselves personally. We will delight in the local foods and take home souvenirs and we will have seen the world.

Except we haven't. There is so much we have yet to see and too little money to see it all. But if we do venture past these borders and wander through the places above, I will be able to return home, satisfied on the touch I left on different parts of the world.

Because as we have learnt in these trying times, venturing past our driveways is an adventure enough.

Because COVID has made our street part of the big wide world.

The one place I am going in a week or two is Cairns. My four darling grand-children and daughter live up there with her hubby and I living in Bundaberg have missed them so much. Not going up for over 2 years because of the pandemic has made me realize that they are more important than ever.

I am actually going to Kangaroo Island for my 60th birthday. My son, daughter-in-law and the grandchildren are treating me to this trip. I will not have to spend a penny while I am over there. I am so excited and can't wait for June to come around. My husband will be paying his own way across there and while we are over there. They took my son's father to Tasmania for his 60th birthday 2 years ago as a surprise for him. He always dreamed of going to Tasmania and they saved hard to be able to plan the trip and all the experiences he enjoyed and I realised how happy he was. I am divorced from my son's father but we remain friends and when he came back from Tasmania it was a joy to see him so happy. I was asked where I would love to go for my 60th and my dream was Kangaroo Island. I couldn't tell them where my altimate dream destination was because of Covid 19. I would really love to go back to England where I was born, to see all my relatives before they die. Kangaroo Island was my 2nd favourite destination. I hope everyone gets to go to their dream destination when Covid if over and the borders open.

This year we are vacationing in Australia. Even though a lot of places are jacking up their prices to make up for the losses over COVID, and to take advantage of the captive market. Just remember Times have been tough on a lot of people. Keep the prices reasonable and more people will come and spend their hard earned money

Mrs came down with severe dementia at the end of 2019. Her main wish was to go back to her family. Their wish is that she goes home. Yes, medically she is better off here, but the family side is a strong pull. We will be going to her village in Thailand.

We have a trip to Cairns and Darwin booked for the near future which we are very much looking forward to. We have two overseas trips in credit for who knows when, one a week in Bali and the other a trip to Turkey/Egypt/Jordan. Didn't really expect to be waiting this long really when we chose not to take a refund but a credit instead. The clock is ticking and we are not getting any younger!!

I must return to Bali as soon as possible. My little volunteer school had to close and my Balinese friends struggle to pay the landowner to not remove our building. However my precious friends have kept the children fed through sharing throughout the village as is the culture among the Balinese. My dear friends Smiley and Budi still gather as many youngsters as they can each fortnight to continue their 'Trash Heroes' projects of cleaning up around the villages and sorting out the trash for recyclables. I am so very proud of them but dare not send money as it is far too risky in this current unsettled climate. I just pray travel is permitted soon so I can at least return with donations and supplies to help to get our school operating again and see those gorgeous smiles before I become too old and infirm.

What a wonderful and generous person you are EileenW1. I understand why it is dangerous to send money because it will be stolen from them and the youngsters are being taught a valuable life lesson in cleaning up around villages and sorting out the trash for recyclables. i can feel how urgent it is for you to return to Bali to make sure your little volunteer school doesn't close and to your 2 dear friends Smiley and Budi to keep the children fed.

I have had a tour sitting in credit since this pandemic began. As soon as I can I am off to Ireland with thoughts of expanding my holiday to England and France. Of course everything will depend on where each country is at with this virus.
Just the thought of a plane flight is exciting at this stage!

Since I was a kid, I've dreamed about visiting Japan. I love culture; traditional and advanced technology used in their everyday life. There's so many things I'm excited to see and do there (see the bathing monkeys at the hot springs, Sanrioland, Tokyo Disneyworld, Capsule and Love Hotels, etc...
My partner said he'd take me, but after giving birth to our youngest child, I decided to delay our holiday plans and take care of our kid instead of dumping an infant and all our older children (we have 5 between us) on their grandparents.
Well I regretted that choice because soon after COVID ruined everyone's travelling plans. Baby's 2 now, so I won't hesitate - I'll probably throw him at his Grandpa - the moment we can afford to go.
And while we're on holiday, I want to stop by Vietnam as well. The Motherland.
My partner's 31, and has never left Australia. Our parents tried convincing him to go to Vietnam instead to visit relatives but he was firm on taking me to Japan. I think that while we're out of the country, it's important him to see Vietnam, not for others but for himself; his origins and descendants' culture.

I do not intend to travel anywhere until and unless I feel safe to do so. Until and unless covid becomes a disease of the past, I will not be leaving my immediate area - I cannot risk getting it, and I, at this stage, cannot get any of the available vaccines (due to allergies to certain ingredients present in all currently available vaccines).
