I am so annoyed that channel 7 have suddenly decided to take Packed to the Rafters off mid season. It only started again a few weeks ago. What is wrong with them, they have a ratings winner and now they do this. It's beyond belief. it seems another way they copy the US. In America they are always doing this.

TV channels just simply don't care whether or not the public likes or dislikes it if they take a program off air mid season or have it start later than the scheduled timeslot.
As for the ads.....I watched a movie on 7mate (I think it was) and couldn't get over how many ad breaks they had and the number of ads in each. I started counting the number of ads after the movie was half way over ...there were 10 in the first two breaks and 8 in the last one counted!

I really hate it when you record your favourite show then go to watch it only to find out the previous prgram ran into overtime. So you only get to watch maybe 2/3rds of your program.

Thanks 888shelley. I suppose it must mean that the shows we like are popular because advertisers obviously wouldn't be running ads in programs which nobody watched. But the ads are still a pain in...

loved morse and lewis June, nearly cried when he died

Yay June, I am also a big fan of Heartbeat and many of the UK shows...Lewis,Morse,Rosemary & Thyme etc. Love the scenery and the ambience of the way of life....the subtle comedy...

But the ads are still a pain in the neck, especially when they put them in places they should not be and when the show is resumed often important dialogue has been cut out, I also love the other shows you mention and like you I find the scenery and buildings beautiful and interesting. Heartbeat in particular is set in an earlier time much nicer than our present which seems to be full of anger and violence and so many reality shows which are really over the top rubbish.

Totally agree, I have been watching reruns of the old show Heartbeat on on seven2 and they insert so many advertisements in I can hardly believe it because it's not on seven's main channel and it...

Consequently it starts late and it runs very late... It must surely be a popular, much watched show or it would not warrant so many advertisements. I watch it because it is gentle, set in a pretty area and set in a time when the world seemed a nicer place. Just a little bit of nostalgia

Yes, in the US it's called 'taking a break', I don't understand it. Maybe it's a way of introducing something else that they are hoping to slot in later?
I was loving the new seasonof Rafters, now I have to wait to see what's going on with everyone!

i agree June they did the same thing with Castle on Sunday nights . After five episodes in a 24 season they took off for months .Season five will now still be shown after the dvd is on sale at ...

Hi Pants, my daughter is also a great fan of Castle and complains about the same thing. And you're right the DVDs come out so soon now that you might as well wait for that. The recent Aussie series "A place to call home" was great and it had hardly finished and the DVD was being advertised. I have to admit I started waiting for the downloads next day because it was so much better to watch without ads. They have so many they ruin the episodes. The sponsors are defeating their purpose because lots of people are waiting for downloads so the viewers don't see their ads at all. My relatives have pay TV and they say the ads and the repeats are starting to make it not worth while. I realise the sponsors are paying a lot of money to advertise but it has to be reasonable

Nice to know someone agrees with me. I think it's bad enough we have to put up with so many advertisements but when they "take a break" so soon in the season we lose our continuity. I thought it...

Nice to know someone agrees with me. I think it's bad enough we have to put up with so many advertisements but when they "take a break" so soon in the season we lose our continuity. I thought it might have been because of Rachel's sudden decision to leave but maybe not. I love it too because they all seem like people you might know, so real.
