in nsw the police can pick some one up and with no medical training drop you of at the local hospital and they place the person in a locked room and the patient then weights for a dr
they need to reavaluate the procedure as it is not a great idea
they need court orders to hold you over an extended period of time unless you agree to stay put
the sign on the clark centre reads voluntary mental health unit
the local police need to learn the meaning of voluntary
and a few of the drs the same
aspecially after the death of an inocent man in armidale nsw australia

Unfortunately the boys in blue don't really know the law and the methodology required

education is useless for them, they are just like a machine. they don't bother why, how and others's well being, all they need is an order or command. if you need help, don't call the police, they are not here to help. i am very surprise this happening in a developed country.

Yes how Sad and unfortunate and need i add wrong for the person who has been treated in such a way, no one should ever have to go through that sort of thing.. I agree that some thing should be done about that procedure as it does not seem to be a good idea.

I think the police showed initiative by removing someone from possibly a threatening situation and move them to where they could get some help.
I think the problem stems from where he was taken to and the set rules that are inappropriate to this persons problem.
Maybe the police weren`t aware of the rules, but to them "out of sight out of mind".
While I`m in awe of the work Drs and nurses do(also the police) I realise no govt.
gives a damn about the medical profession, hospitals and users.
This is where the problem lay.

OMG - I've heard it all now! "The Police have little to do".....I think they did the right thing!

so for doing survey sites and opening the truth in regards to police informers and such
we weist 6 hours of medical area drs time and an ambulance to pick up
just to find out the police informers mate has not requested the informationn correctly and when the dr sends the report to the local police station they hit the roof and request fron know on police entering must carry identification on them at all times
and know a recording of the whole insicedent is sitting in the hands of a great big cop with no idea as to how to explain the matter to a legal broadcaster
police and fools
they need to carry the identification on them at alll times
as if no identification is carried the school kids are being asked to notlgo with these people
they only hurt themselves

Goodo Stretch, stick with it,you seem to know where you have come from and are going to,but try not to lump all the uniforms together,`cause most of them are OK,

Goodo Stretch, stick with it,you seem to know where you have come from and are going to,but try not to lump all the uniforms together,`cause most of them are OK,
except the ones who are on "the big EGO trip"(these are mostly the ones who hold rank).
"but a lot of people are too scared to stand up to them" is a statement that is all to
true in these troubled times and fits a lot of subjects in Australia.
Bide your time Stretch, relax and let non life threatening events flow over and away from you.
