i had a pet rottweiller cross
he loved the kids that visited the house but
hated black migrants
he got on well with courries and others
he was always trained to keep strangers out of the yard and house and was close to the family
but was aloud to chase and grab during training
why should a dog be like this

I think rotweiller are very protective towards their family,he could have had a bad experience with a black migrant and never forgotten it.Dogs can sence if somethings wrong.

I have a Rottie and I believe that they dislike certain people because of their fine instinct. In saying that, my Rottie only barks at men. I believe that is because my husband is away frequently and the dog has a natural instinct to care for and protect "his" family. They are the most loving, devoted dogs and ours gets on like a sibling with our 4 yo. If we are out camping and she goes for a walk he will head off after her and stay close as if it is his job to look after her. Our dog has never been mistreated by anyone but he is easily able to recognise if someone is scared of or dislikes him. Our last Rottie would allow people into the yard but would not allow them to leave. My father in law sprayed him with the hose one day and the dog got back at him by peeing on his shoes. Very clever dogs with a sense of humour and natural instinct to guard.

sounds great
you can not get a better dog aspecially one that shows they care as much as you do for them

they are mis understood by many as the size scares a lot of people
but they have a large amouny of love if treated correctly and is normal for them to guard lille people as if it were there job it just comes natural with growing up with the kids
thank you

Did you have your pet from a puppy? If not there could have been some negative history there. My little man had a golden retriever have a go at him now he barks at retrievers when he sees them. They do remember.

The little dog I had a few years ago all of a sudden started cowering and then I caught my mother in law trying to hit it with a broom. She was promptly told who belongs here and who doesn't. I know she never liked me but doing that to my little friends was not on.

he was born in south grafton and the ex fell in love with him the kids used to play with him as if he was another child he went as many places as possible with the family
he had a best friend that was a cat and they used to sleep togeather and play as if he was just one of the crowd
the cat used to place his paw under the doorway and the dog would place his paw ontop of the cats paw and never once did i see the cat get hurt
they even shared the food bowl on more than one occasion
played football with the basketball expensive habit though
i tought him to tackle as a joke and to bark when people were around
bu ti could never get the dislike he had for certain people out of his nature
always wondered if maybe one of them had given him a flogging when we were not at home one an occasion
