AAAA In the recent news it has shown many areas of NSW, QLD, VIC, have been flooded. How much support do we give these people compared with overseas when dishing out government assistance in cleaning up.
Do we use our army engineers to practice in this area for when they are need for deployment over seas to help out. Do you think enough help is provided to prevent this happening over and over again, now the drought appears to have broken.

Hi Passum
We must support our communities. Though the floods are gone from here for now (Ipswich, Qld) I am certain they will be back. What can be done? Surely, this county could look toward other flood areas in the world, that also hot, dry and humid, to find some solution?

It looks as the government is moving on the problem, it is now our turn to all, give a little financeual support to help people who have lost every thing. Just think how devestated you would feel if thIs happened to you . its also good to see sta is doing their bit as well asother internet companys every little bit helps in time of need for people indistress this will take many years for them to get back what they had
We should commend the Queensland premer for her efforts by giving her personal support to these victms it is also sad that we have lost many australians in this natural disarster their familys will be in total shock and need support
thes SES is also a great bunch of guys who will work tiresly to help in times of trouble.its marvelous all of these things happen at at Christmas time .there will be massive amouts of material to be disposed of in a suitable place not cause problems in future floods. I WILL FINISH WITH THANK YOU ALL WHO WILL SUPPORT OUR AUSSIE FELLOW MATES>

the drought is suppost to be returned to australia after we go through a few more predicted floods and fires but who cares the politicians did not
the drought will be longer then the last
the armed forces would not have enough leadership at the moment to be of much help but they should get there boots dirty and hands of it and help clean up the mess
what do we pay them for

ok lets look at it this way we had long term outlook running around australia 5 years ago
what did the politicians have to do clean up a few creeks to stop the floods being so bad they never did
what did they do in regards to the findings
they ignored qualified persons from other countries with special equipment
the army would be the best way to clean up as all the gear is owned by the government unless privatisation is in the armed forces
oh man i forgot the findings were broadcasted not just in australia by tv radio but also on outside lines of communication cb as well
lest we not forget
all politicians are liers and lazy and never keep there word

Its not just up to governments to keep waterways free councils residences farmers state and fed gove all have to work together. I think its a long time since any flood mitigation work has been done because of drought ,the problem is we are never prepaired enough for these things when they happen It should be an ongoing concern to all of us as our turn could be next
we all should give our bit to help

I agree we should accept his offer.
But the public in other areas which are not flooded should give generously to charity who support the flood victims.

The problem is that the news people are only interseted in their deadlines not the victims ,If they were they would supply food and stock fodder to help out. It has not been not noticed in Canada it has made the news over there and i was asked what we are doing to help i said not a lot it seems . the airforce can deliveravation fuel almost anywhere so why not at home .

It is great to see my community coming together in CQ as our flood has not peaked as yet. But why if we are short on aviation fuel and other resources can't the government and the news crews ban together and use the resources wisely. I hear & see chopper after chopper flying around just to report on the issues. How bout keeping some for emergencies and supply transport around our striken area. Lets hope these areas get more assistance then overseas this year. Help our own you'd think would come first.

Its good to see the governments are assisting our flood victims but how many of us have donated to this cause in comparason to overseas disarsters.
It appears no one has red this article to comment so we dont care much about our fellow Australians much do we .
