Hi, is there anyone out there who is absolutely sick to death (excuse the pun) of these commercials they are showing nonstop on the telly trying to convince us to buy death and funeral insurance. it has reached saturation point,I mean all the money they spend on advertising wouldn`t they be better offer better and cheaper premiums, plus the actors are so fake

ohhh yes i am totally over them!!!!!!! i find them particularly overdone around the midday movie time, and several different companies all adv at the same time. i also agree that most of them are a ripoff......why increase the premiums as you get older, if all you get is a $6000 funeral, surely at <>$12 pm, you would pay for it in 5-6 years!

Hi, dont know which 'F&D Insurance Ad' you are referring to? But after I lost my husband suddenly & tragically, I wished those ad's were a nuisance, 7 years ago.
Because, I dont want to leave my 3 children, with a huge bill after I pass. I was inspired by 'Michael Jones' (All Black Legend, who I believe is not an actor), & who also is the 'Public' spokesman for 'Cigna Insurance', to call their operators & begin the steps needed to insure that my children are not stressed during my funeral.

Most people live into their eighties with the insurance companies ripping us off because funerals are less than $10,000 and by the time the person dies, they have made four times that amount if not more.

It, to me, is astounding that these insurance companies have so many spots! I'm 61 years old & while in Chicago, NYC, Germany, Texas, Washington, even 23 years in Honolulu, I NEVER saw an ad for Funerals til 11years ago arriving in Australia! The apathetic viewers allow it, it's what they git! Look, only 8 responses & how many complain? Ya git wot ya deserve!

Totally sick to death of these ads. Besides they are a huge con. Far better to pre-pay a funeral than outlay what could potentially be hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for a small benefit paid back. If anyone is considering taking this type of insurance out, do the sums first.

I agree Cookie, it is a big con. You're much better of just pre-paying your funeral than paying 50,000 or 60,000 dollars for a 6000 dollar funeral.

Yes that`s true but my point is they over advertise and in recent light of the terrible floods in Qld and now Vic these same insurance people are now not coming to the party and are getting real picky about what is deemed a flood, to me a flood is water that has inundated your home/property due to excess water be if from a river upstream downstream that has burst it`s banks water being released from a controlled source ie: weir dam by a government body all because nature decided to unleash its fury and give us heaps of rain they have been taking money for years and now not giving back these companies should be names shamed and boycotted

Trust me, the last thing you want when a loved one dies is not to know how to pay the funeral costs. Australians are, in general, under insured - I'd rather have the option of making a quick phone call and getting funeral insurance than not knowing where to go for this kind of cover.
Companies advisertise to get business - we all know that, and they are entitled to it. THey wouldn't get ANY premiums if people didn't know they existed.

I can only agree. These ads make me cynical about the nature of products they are advertising.
