Will a minority government work for Australia?

I believe the 2010 Federal Election results show that Australians were extremely unhappy with the last Labor government and wanted a change. The way the Independents have allocated their support has caused much malcontent in their electorates. A new election should be called to resolve our dilemma.

It certainly works in other countries. NZ has had this situation. whilst not perfect, as the Independents often end up with more clout than their position would warrant, at least the big parties can't run roughshod over everyone.

I am optimistic about the effect of the independents. Satisfaction in the electorate in which I live is not for me. As a postal voter my vote for the lower house has no bearing at all as the seat is a safe one and the result is always called before my envelope is opened. However I was please on the concentration on the personal aspect of the preferences. My preferences belong to me and i always vote below the line so that i really do have a feeling of exercising my franchise. I do not always agree with what the independents put up but there is more interest and discussion than when most others toe the party line and are so boring.

Could not agree more. Just hope the ones that voted informal have the guts to vote for someone.

Election cost a huge amount to run, who do think would be able to fund a new election?
Just let the current Government get on with the job they were elected to do.

Exactly Bob! Geez, some people think Australia is a never ending money pit able to cough up money at will to chnage this, change that and all to suit the minority!
