Hi - I'm really interested in trying Reiki. Has anyone done it before? Do you recommend it?

Can anyone recommend anyone in Sydney for Reiki?

Reiki was developed in 1922. It is not a centuries old tradition.
From wikipedia : the value of reiki remains unproven."The American Cancer Society and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine have also found that there is no clinical or scientific evidence supporting claims that Reiki is effective in the treatment of any illness.
My advice - try it for yourself if you know someone who uses it, but don't pay ridiculous money to try it.

Sorry can't recommend a Sydney person- but in general...my daughter in law took up Reiki several years past. As a self described 'uninformed Catholic' she had been looking at alternative ways of living, and came upon Reiki.
I can vouch for the fact that she had no real idea of anatomy or the way the human body works - and she is still like that ( I don't mean dumb but just the way she was brought up). However, she has some sort of God given gift with Reiki.
When she lays her hands on the place where there is a problem, I can feel a 'heat' coming from her - and it helps. She can even talk to me on the phone and sort of concentrate on what is wrong, and make a difference.
I am a Christian, I don't know whether I should believe in this - although there is the laying on of hands that Jesus obviously endorsed , but I do know it can help for whatever reason.

Sorry - as I live in Qld,I can't recommend a Reiki practitioner in Sydney. However I can recommend Reiki from personal experience and that of others.I know of a case where a hospital here allowed a Reiki practitioner to help in the treatment of a badly injured child, and some staff were looking at the possibility of having the practice of Reiki accepted as part of the recovery process for patients who requested it.

I have a broken back with titanium rods holding it together and a friend trained in Reiki and asked to use me as a guinea pig for her training. I received no beifit from it at all.

Am truly sorry to hear of your experience with Reiki as it is an age old tradition that heals from the inside out and having received Reiki over the years can truly say...the results have made a positive impact on my wellbeing.

Hope you seek a Reiki master in your location to work with you as the benefits will boost your wellbeing.
Good Luck!
