Hi, I work in the piercing industry and know other piercers and a few tattooists, and something that has recently come up in conversation is catergorizing these careers on websites such as this one when you are given a certain slection. I usually categorize it under arts but there hasn't been a single instance where I have found tattooist or piercer as one of the options. I think tattooists and piercers should be more recognised for their work because they are a really big part of a lot of people's lifestyles.

What do you think? Any tattooists or piercers out there agree? Or any people with tattoos and piercings, what do you think?

There are too many self appointed experts who all they want to do is run events like the miss ink pageants and not take an active role in the industry - for example in taking an active role in influencing Australian legislations. Perhaps the top tattooists should take an active role in establishing an recognised industry association.
