Sorry to hear about your accident. Although I'm quite over the whole "alternatives" thing, there are a large range of both visually & taste - matched products out there that many people could not tell the difference. They're all made from different things, but the common thread is that they would all generally be more expensive. For example, "Tofurky" is supposed to be just one product that resembles a whole turkey that when properly prepared, resembles a whole US - Style Thanksgiving Dinner centre-piece! The Asian Grocery stores are hands-down the best sources for such products, although a very limited range can be found in the largest supermarkets.

Are you allergic to all chicken? What are your reactions? Just interested as I have been looking a lot into additives and how they can affect your health, and how we don't think it's additives because they are often in lots of foods. So usually we think we must be allergic to the last food we ate that gave us the reaction.

I like to substitute a lot of nuts/seeds in stead of cereals in a lot of snacks that I make for me and my kids. And have starting using pureed fruit instead of sugar in muffins.

Another favourite substitute that is healthy for you is Miso paste instead of vegemite!!

People seem be very conscious about what and how food is grown or made . Unfortunately mine is being in the wrong place at that certain time . I was told that I was run over by a car . After wakening from a very long coma . They said that my whole body has some how , changed .

lamb or pork can go in many of them. I have to substitute chicken a lot. I prefer chicken but have iron problems so beef or pork are usually substituted. Welcome to the world of allergies. I am wheat (can have Durham wheat and other gluten items, corn/maize, cashews, yeast, ginger, eggs and dairy. Also sensitive to MSG. So, I know how hard it can seem to substitute and having to check labels and ring ahead to restaurants before eating out.

If you enjoy casseroles you could always use B.B.Q chops, chuck steak, Sausages,Steak & Kidney, for a few ideas if you like that sort of meal being winter time.

Are you allergic to any other poultry? You could substitute turkey for the chicken in recipes.
