The Dukan diet is a fantastic diet that has worked for many people. The best thing is its not a fad, nor do you starve yourself you can eat as much as you want as long as its on the permitted list. its make up of three phases. but the ultimate outcome is a kick start for the metabolism and you loose enough wait to feel satisfied and drives you to keep going.

I followed the body trim diet once and it worked quite well... Always make sure that your protein portion is the size of your fist and obviously unlimited intake of fruit and veggies... it really works quite well...

I have insulin resistance (I make too much insulin) and was sent to a "nutritionist"??? (who I found out had no provider number but was connected to a fitness club) who gave me a high protein, low carbohydrate - sugar, dairy and grain free diet. It is OK for no more than 6 weeks as continued use can damage organs if used long term. I lost a reasonable amount weight but my cholestoral "went through the roof" as instead of some meats I used to eat he told me to eat meat with fat on it so I didn't get constipated. I basically ate almost the same meals breakfast, lunch and dinner. I asked for a 2nd opinion and was given a meal plan with protein and 2 serves of carbohydate for breakfast, lunch and dinner at night. I was allowed l serve for morning and afternoon snacks.
Check lists on google and you find "good" and "bad" carbohydrates and list of foods which contain them. I found the information very helpful.

Thank you for your reply. I do walk on most days for approx 45 minutes, sometimes more (but not on rainy or very hot days - unless I go just after it is light - it is not safe to walk around here after dark) I either steam all of my vegetables (including green ones) or combine them with lean skinned diced chicken breast in a casserole. Initially I wasn't allowed any grain, dairy and only allowed restricted amount low carb. low sugar content fruit and I did shed weight but I got constipated. I now eat porridge for breakfast with diced pear in it (which is still crisp when my porridge is cooked -it gives a little sweetness) I make the porridge with half water, half semi-skim milk. I did go to some sites on Google and got lists of protein, carbohydrates (both types), fat and salt in fruit and vegetables. I also check the nutritional values on any "suitable" recipes that I find on-line I have noticed that some of the recipes are low in some things but high in salt. I will check the site again to see if any of the things I recorded have been amended.

If you really want to lose weight with high protein intake it will help you in certain way but if you really want to lose weight without doing any exercise that will take you a bit longer than people who do exercise as well as eat healthy foods. I mean you should know how much protein, carbohydrate, fat, fibre intake in your daily life. To control the weight gain you should start eating boiled green vegetables for fibres, fruits for iron ,helping you to resist from the infection as well as boosting the energy when you need without on having heavy diets. So to control the weight gain, you should educate yourself on nutrition. There is a website describing everything you need i hope it will help you by going to nutrition.com.

Lean meat - chicken without the skin and with fat trimmed off; fish; small amounts of trimmed red meat; eggs, low fat cheese; nuts. Avoid sugar and salt. Eat lots of green vegetables and salads without fatty dressings. No butter.
