This will appeal to the more "immature" members, but it will be interesting to see what you all say. Playstation 3 - Flashy, overpriced doorstop, or peice of media genius? XBox 360 - Obselete HD DVD player, or yet another Microsoft triumph? Nintendo Wii - Child's play thing, or innovative and original? For me it is the Wii, because it is a games console, and nothing else.

Having all three helps you expand into a wider gaming community with people you now play the same games with.

It's great to have all three, in my opinion. You no longer have to worry about the hassle of exclusive titles and releases and best of all, you get to reach a wider community of people who are now more likely to play the same games as you.

Whoa! Immature members? I am 62 and an avid gamer. I am not alone either! The average age of gamers is 35 and rising! I play on my PS3, PS4, PS Vita and my computer. Do I have a life? You betcha - exercise on my Wii when it is raining or too hot to go outside (best for this is Active - awesome program), gardening on the weekend (I work full time), fixing this, making that, on the weekend - go to movies, mix with friends, it goes on and on. Love to cook and pretty good at baking bread, I must say. Only issue with gaming is that you have to move away. It is so much fun beating up the bad guys or killing the zombies, or even travelling around your 'world' to make a difference that I can get quite attached to it. Set a time limit, and that's it. Watch out what children play - they don't have ratings for nothing, believe me!!!!

PS3 gets my vote. Why? Well as someone who always preferred to play games on the computer I found the PS3 suited my needs because:
- the online gaming side was free
- I prefer some of the titles such as Last of Us and Killzone which are exclusive to the PS3
- the controller
The controller sold it to me when I was deciding between these three consoles. I found the xbox 360 made my hands uncomfortable after a few hours and the Wii remote was built for the sports games. The PS3 controller us symmetrical and doesn't get uncomfortable after lengthy hours of gaming.

I'm of a more mature age but I love my Wii. I use mainly the Wii Fit however love the other games especially Mario :) We bought a Playstation 2 for our son years ago mainly to be able to play DVDs but ended up enjoying his games as well. I find the Wii very versatile with games which appeal to all ages.

Still have my Atari with Space Invaders Pac Man and some other low tech games in full working order since 1982. When I get bored with that I just go outside for action games. But I must admit I like one game I saw which involved a chess game where the pieces go into battle scenes with all sorts of military weapns for which ever era you choose. Leaves Battle Chess for dead. Just wish I wasnt so old that the grey matter could remember where I saw it operating and was one one of those non pc consoles.

I own a ps3 and I did own a wii however I sold it back to EB games. First off, the wii seems like a child's toy. I guess Nintendo have a different target audience, but 90% of the games have horrible graphics and not much gameplay to them. The remote is a cool idea, but essentially no different to the eye-toy or power glove.

The debate over playstation vs. Xbox is an annoying one, as the consoles aren't that different. The ps3 is a better console, but from what I hear xbox live is a lot easier to use. However after the release of the ps4, Xbox pulled the biggest pr stunt ever. Xbox messed up so badly with the camera being always on, and making it so you cannot lend games. Horrible mess up and Playstation embraced it. Definitely playstation for an entertainment system, however for gaming... Definitely PC. Consoles will never beat PC in performance.

to me they all are really good but to be honest i would love to have the wii over any other one. but i hate nintendo along with many others after they released the ad for the nintendo 2ds. at first i thought it was a joke but noooo they were being serious.

i think the diference in goodness is in the control setup being different with the wii . if playstation or xbox made a neww innovative controller they would probly be a lot sicker

PS3 and Wii are the best. Wii is great to play with friends and family and PS3 is for more serious gamers unless you intend to play Little Big Planet which is also great to play with friends and family.

I had a nintendo - in about 1992. 27 years later (25 in storage) it couldn't be used as it had corroded.
Can't be bothered with them now. Couldn't tell one from the other.

Xbox has to be the best console for gaming with friends, Playstation 3 is the best value for money (blue ray) also has fairly good gaming, Wii has to be for the enthusiast's - peopel who love to get up and play interactively. I reckon they all have their merits but you can't beat the Xbox 360 - it's simply the best console

I think the wii has local multi-player games that really separate i from other consoles. Most consoles are moving online and are neglecting the local multi-player niche.

That being said, I think the ps3 has the edge over the 360 mainly because it spent longer in development and therefore was able to pick up a few extra add-ons.

I usually game on my PC, but if I had to choose a console I would go with Wii or Xbox 360. I haven't had much to do with playstation though I'd like to try. Oh, and I also love playing DS!

Ps3 is certainly flashy and overpriced but it plays with your visuals and makes you wow at them, I have a few friends who are in love with it because of the graphics and the games you play that need it.
XBox 360? Recently my fiancee and I spent a few hours trying to fix that damn error that every Xbox gets and finally when it was fixed the HDD died after a few goes.. It has way too many errors, but it works well if it actually works. To me the Xbox 360 is the standard average console.
The Wii! I love the wii, it's a great social tool, keeps you fit, and lets you do things many of the other consoles can't. It certainly beats all the others in terms of features. I am aiming to get a wii after my wedding bills are paid haha.

I love the Wii for the exercises. It's the only thing that actually motivates me to get up and do it.
I also love the tennis, because I played REAL tennis for years but unfortunately due to a shoulder injury had to give it all away. Playing on the Wii, feels like I am actually playing, it's fun, entertaining and I am also keeping fit at the same time. What's so great, is I don't have to serve high so my shoulder loves it. :-)
Best invention, the Wii. It's useful for elderly folks, baby boomers or the young at heart.
There is something for everyone to play. The kids still get their games that they want so everyone is happy.

I vote for none. Much better to just get out of the couch and experience reality with the side benefit of exercise.

In my oppinion, the PS3 is a bit of both. The technology is brilliant within it, but Sony only expanded it to a certain degree. The graphical capabilities even fall below that of the 360 with certain games. The 360 is definitely useless. The games look rubbish, and you have to pay for online. Plus any games that are better on console rather than PC would be better off on PS3. Halo was the 360's only major milestone. The Wii is innovative, but not original. Motion control was used before it came out, but it is unique how it introduced it as a family medium.
Personally, I'm more of a PC person. much prefer the feel of a mouse and keyboard compared to a controller. Though I will admit that some games are better on console than PC (i.e. Racing games, sometimes platformers)

I am going to say none, in all reality games come out on all gaming consoles as well as pc. Pc is probably the best option for many reasons.

1. You can upgrade bits and pieces and still play your old classics.
2. Update and install new content
3. Games become cheaper faster

I have a Wii. In fact I have two of them. One at home and one in my room at work (where I fly in and out). I love the variety of games styles it offers. Not just sport and fitness games but also puzzle games, platform games and even old school games such as original Donkey Kong, Alex Kidd from Master System and the original Sonic and Mario games that most gamers grew up with as kids.

With sports games such as cricket, bowling, golf etc as well as games like Mario Kart, and Guitar Hero it makes for a great night in with a group of friends.

The wireless remotes are also great, especially for someone like my partner who is rather clumsy and trips over the old cords.

Wii definately gets my vote.

On that note, I haven't spent much time on the XBox or PS3 so my vote could be very biased. :)

Playstation 3 is clearly ahead of both wii and xbox 360. i have a ps3 and an xbox 360 however the ps3 is a lot better due to its multimedia capabilities and with the release of wii like remotes for playstation 3 it will beat the wii at its own game. You can also surf the net and online play is FREE!

PS3 thanks! whats with Wii people if I wanted to jump around like an idiot playing Wii tennis I might as well play the real thing, you want exercise you don't need to look silly in front of the TV to get it.Game consoles are all in the thumbs gaming at its purest anything more is a waste of the tech inside it.If your going to the trouble of that much physical effort dont be fooled by the Wii get the kids and get out for real!

I would have have to say the Wii is the better one of them all..

I believe the PS3 is over priced and its pretty unfair that you cannot back play games brought for PS1 & PS2.. I have collected quite a lot of games and don't see the point of buying a PS3 when I wont be able to play them.

The Wii is the better contender because all ages and sexes can play, it gets you off your but and more involved in the game play..

It all depends on what your after in a gaming console. wether you want it for casual gaming, hardcore or more. (heh that rhymes)
The Wii is great for Casual gaming. its something anyone can pick up and enjoy. its gimmick is its wiimote; it gives you the chance to actually be properly apart of the game. personally i dont enjoy the wii, it lasted 2 weeks on me and i just couldnt enjoy it.

Xbox 360 is perfect for the hardcore gamer. it has an enormous catalogue of games its reletivly simple to use. its gimmick is its online capabilities. for a small fee (YES A FEE) you can play on what is probably the best online servers to date. gaming online is really simplified with micro$oft. bare in mind bying an xbox tho will force you to shell out alot of extra cash. as now you no longer are given HD cables standard. it has no internal wifi capabilities and accessories are **** expensive

Last we have the PS3. this machine has the best and most powerful tech inside it. it however has less to do with actual gaming then needed. it has a Blu ray player standard for HD movies and HD games. it has inbuilt wifi and has a full internet browser. what it lacks in gaming it definitly makes up for in everything else. it was designed to be everything. it failed yet succeeded simultaniously.

once again it all depends on what your after.
casual gaming: Wii
Hardcore HD Gaming: Xbox 360
General Entertainment: PS3

i prefer xbox of the 3 but i prefer PC gaming overall.

I have only ever used a PC desktop for my war-ries and I really enjoy the comfort,
size and controls, also privacy of my d/top.I was worried about not having the same
choice of games, but it`s ok so far..
I don`t play multiplayer as I`m 64yo and everyone is too quick for me,but as an xdigger ,I know if you jump off roofs, you die,and I`m sick of being punted by punkbuster because of weird code numbers.

anyway PC is for me

agree with all the above, but i cannot fault PS3 for gaming, playing mass effect 2, at the moment, graphics and gameplay are stunning, the other worlds look amazing

Wii - Fun, but personally i get bored with it too fast.

XBox - Never liked them, most likely never will, I just dont like big controllers (I know they make them smaller now, but still...), also IMO i really dislike Halo, but thats me.

Playstation 3 - Yeh its expensive, yeh the games cost a fortune, but I grew up with Playstation. Not only that, theyre always easy to somehow crack or chip, thats why people like them, and buy them.

I love the nintendo wii. I do a lot of the execises on there with my grandchildren. It also keeps them healthy and fit even if they are in doors playing on the wii. I think this is a fantastic concept. I believe they are using this on older paitents to try there balance and see if it improves after they have used it for a while

I have a Playstation 3 - and a Wii.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

The Wii is a great interactive game console, i find that the Wii's disadvantages is the lack of other uses. its a gaming consol, and a gaming console alone.

My PS3 i use for everything, i play music off it, search the internet off it, play DVD's & Blu-Ray movies off it. as well as playing hte odd game or two off it.

Main advantage for the PS3 is the fact that it comes sandard with the ability to play blu ray movies.. Blu0Ray players were currently at the same cost at the time of purchase, seemed the better option to me at the time.

I have a Nintendo Wii and I reckon this is the biggest innovation in gaming. It's design is pure genius however I know that the quality and volume of available games on the other consoles make them real contenders too!

The Wii get my vote.

Hi, I have all three and like the quality out put and free on-line play of the Playstation3 for those qualities best. Xbox 360 has the better games and more frequent new games but I refuse to pay to play on-line even tho all my grandchildren urge me to play on-line with them. Wii is good for exercise. Each thing for its own qualities. Cheers.
