2013 new election . Illegal boat people, gay marriage, anti-discrimination law
What are we in for in 2013? Will we lose our right to disagree with the government , church, each other , call a mate a dick head! I know I will always be called a racist homophobe because i do not believe in gay "marriage" or allowing same sex couples to adopt or have children through IVF . But this is my right gained by our forefathers who fought and in some cases died to protect our right to speak our minds . I am a not racist just because I want to protect our Australian way of life against groups who do not want us to fly our Australian Flag , allow Christmas carols to be sung in our shopping centres show the nativity scene or carry out any other Christian Judo idea anywhere anytime!
If any group dislikes these ideals then please let me know and i will pay their fares to any country of their choice. They are NOT welcome here ! For those that can intergrate with our lifestyle and learn Australian get a job and enjoy a beer , you are welcome!

I totally agree errolsyd.....if people wish to come and live here then they should learn to adopt the Australian way of life.

Ha, ha. ha...well so far Julia Gillard has been ousted and Kevin 07 has returned with sweet vengence. Abbot is on shaky ground and the Labor Party may just retain a majority this time. You are correct in voicing your opinion about the other issues. Homosexuality (gay marriage) etc. The problem is that we don't vote for these cultural and society changes. The Members of Parliament (State & Federal) do so with Legislature that gets passed by the majority Lower then Upper House (the Senate). The people are not asked what they want the Government to do through referendums. That's a pity. We really need a People's Constitution. In the future, (and I will not be around to see it) the face of Australia will be Euro-Asian. Theoriginal Caucasian face will be a
minority. Our Modern World has proven that it does not need religion to Govern the people, religion governs Morality of the people as a counter-balance to any contempteous conduct by the Government. Religion against Religion must be eradicated becaause that is what causes segreagation, discrimination, racism, hatred and WARS!

Hi errolsyd, I respect your view with some reservations, one being that we are all citizens of the world, and indeed the Earth which we all share.
There are extremist people of all races and religions, that are apt to annoy us moderates, so we must try to use logical argument to try to educate them to take a more realistic and 'middle of the road view'.
Even the Christian faith has it's extreme (I.d call it "one eyed" ) doctrines in some of the sects, others more liberal.

It is about education and enlightenment.

As far as I'm concerned everyone is welcome here as long as they cause no harm. The Harm Principle.
There we may get into a deep discussion as to what constitutes Harm? This then becomes a value judgement........
