New Technology? No thanks!

I went into a store the other day to actually cash in a gift voucher from last Xmas and while having a good look around to see what I could get with the voucher I was astounded at some of the new technological advances......pedestal fans that gave off a very cooling breeze but had no blades to speak of ...all I could see was a plain metal circle on a stand and nothing else. So how it gave off a nice cool breeze was beyond me. And then there was the computer.....no monitor or keyboard...just a screen that displayed a keypad and could be used in much the same way as a smart phone (I think). Not too mention the other different little gadgets on offer...no idea what some of them were for! I no sooner get used to one lot and that is replaced with something new so nothing new for me in the technological line. I'll stick with what I know how to use.

The fan you're referring to is a Dyson one. It's fantastic! Much safer for children (there are no sharp blades for them to cut themselves on if they stick their hands in it) and it's far quieter than a regular fan. Personally I think James Dyson is a genius! I love his inventions. If only I could afford them all....

Hi annacathryn....that was the first time I had ever seen a fan without blades and one of my first thoughts was that it was such an improvement on the old type of fans and much safer too.
