Australia seems to be helping other countries,in need or not,why does it seem to
be ignoring desperate needy Australians?

Well said porge. I agree, the UN is certainly not going to help Australia , at least not untill kick backs and brown paper bags become popular again . Sorry ,that`s an old aussie saying . I live in Qld and our premier has given many , many reasons
to sound off at the Pollies ,so i`ll catch you around the "discussions "

A large part of the reason for all this touchy feely help was the fact the present Government wanted a seat on the UN, but who cares? Certainly not me, and a seat on the UN security council won't house, teach or cure a single Australian. Then when it came to the crunch and Australia had the opportunity to vote on Palestine, what did Australia do, it put it's vote where it counted most and abstained. Big talkers? More like Big wimps!

You`re right kel, that`s the way it is now,but i have noticed a change in peoples` attitude,as you said it used to be labour for the workers and libs for the rich, that was when pollies listened to the voters. Now, the pollies don`t care about the voters, and quite rightly too,as the voters only care about what`s happening for 5 minutes and then continue on their way in ignorant bliss and get walked over.
The change i`m seeing comes from the younger people, all our accepted, mostly worn out, ideas are not accepted by these younger ones, and i ,for one hope they can do something about it asap.
