Coles are promoting a new fly buys deal where I think what you do is purchase five products that are on special that add up to at least $50, and with that you will receive a ten pecent discount. I noticed Dawn French is all over the tv and internet promoting this new offer. I couldn't help wondering why Coles did not hire a "typically Aussie celebrity" to promote this deal. I am already terribly tired of this ad being presented by Dawn French who is not only ridiculously wealthy, but I don't think she is Australian, am I wrong? or do you too wonder where Coles is coming from!

I noticed the same thing about the my 5. However, there are many things which I purchase that were not eligible. I don't think there will be much of a saving from this programme.

The actual Coles My 5 promo that you mention is actually a bit different to what you desribed. You choose 5 items, from logging into the website. It actually comesup with suggestions, which were MY actual most purchased items and then other items that I have purchased while on special. So it obviously monitors your sales on the Fly Buys card data for each member! But you choose 5 for your choice and then when you purchase any of those items and are spending over $50 you receive 10% off those items only. I have noticed it comes up on the bottom of the receipt as My5 discount..

I just checked my total points - 5,300 and then checked to see how many points I needed top eat at my favourite restaurant with points. Guess what it used to be around 14,500 and is now 23,000....why!!!
I'm totally over Dawn French yelling at me and think she should stick to being Bishop opf Dibley which I loved.....

I think that the number of points needed is higher because Flybuys has changed how points are earned. They say that you you can now earn points from the first $ (it was $5) and there are lots of ways to earn extra points. Therefore the value of the points is less, and more are needed to 'buy' a product or service.

About Dawn French ... I avoid her by not watching TV, and I ignoring her on the net :)
