I have recently given up cigarettes, not through health reasons but I just felt that the time was right and also the price of them these days is astronomical. I thought giving up would be hard as I chose the old way of "cold turkey", I went out on social occasions to see if I would feel like a ciggy but "no" but then my dear faithful dog was dying and boy I wished for a ciggy, the challenge was not to go back there and so far I have abstained, as grief takes hold I look for things to do with my hands eg typing, to fill the void, sometimes I want them back, as since giving up I have high cholestrol and high blood pressure, I threaten my GP that if this continues i might take the suckers back up again. Are there others out there like me come on people chat with me and tell me if this is normal when you first stop or am I being a sookie?

I stop smoking with a book called: the easy way of stop smoking. And I have not had the cravings and anything like that. It's 10 years now. Maybe you should read it and maybe it'll help you to understand many of your feelings and thoughts. All the best and be proud of yourself.
