Just read all the comments and I must say I feel sad. Australians are a very tolerent people and until now we didn't really have any problem with people from other lands who came here to make a better life. Yes that is what they did, and they "fitted "into the Australian way without any real difficulty. Their children were accpeted as Aussies. Within a generation the children who were born here or raised here from a very young age were as Aussie as us, These people who are "invading" our country now have no wish to assimilate with us and our cuture. They disapprove of our beliefs, our customs and demand to have their religion and customs adhered to and they make no qualms about how they feel toward infidels. This government has caused the massive problem we now have and the amount of money that is being spent is beyond belief. No amount of money can mend the damage that has been done to us and I do fear for my little grandsons and wonder what Australia they will be living in in 10-20 years from now.
This discussion has shown those of us who are reading and adding our views to it the proof of how these people and their beliefs have divided many of us. I pray to God that somehow we will all survive and that this wonderful country of ours will not be ruined. God bless Australia

Well CAT17 I am glad that we are not the only ones that think this way. Did you see the latest from the AFL ? They are now responding to their muslim players and demanding that prayer rooms are...

Just a little more to this discusion. I read in the Australian (the paper the government doesn't like) that the Islamic schools in Sydney are funded 85% by we taxpayers. Why are these schools entitled to that level of funding, and some of these schools are unable to account for the spending of these funds. I wonder where the money is! These schools teach the children only their beliefs and ways and not what Australia is and who its people are and about our culture. How can children assimilate if they are segregated from the rest of us. These people do not want to be part of us, and they are getting their way by this government allowing their laws and customs, at the same time dismissing ours.

Yes I did hear about the prayer rooms - seriously what next - a priest/pastor/minister to bless the other players and ofcourse somewhere for the athiests too. No discimination at the footy please!

I have never had a problem with migrants (my dad was one) and have mixed with people from many different countries all my life. When I was teaching in Canberra there was a very noticable division between Islamic children and the others. Most children got on well but some boys in particular who were Muslim and had instilled in them by their families not to assimulate caused a lot of problems. How we will ever become one nation when there is this very definite devision is beyond me. We are forced to accept their ways but they make no effort to understand and respect ours. This illegal asylum situation is not just scarey but is becoming out of control and what is the mindless government doing about it NOTHING where is Bowen and Gillard - they haven't mentioned boat people at all, Julie is too busy handing out millions and dodging questions about the upcoming budget. Now there is another thing we could go on and on about.

Well CAT17 I am glad that we are not the only ones that think this way. Did you see the latest from the AFL ? They are now responding to their muslim players and demanding that prayer rooms are supplied at AFL grounds so that muslims can pray 5 times a day to allah? What is going on?? Check out the latest figures on ILLEGAL boat arrivals. So far 2012 - 26 boats = 1971, 2011 - 69 boats = 4733, 2010 - 134 boats = 6879, 2009 - 61 boats = 2849
Then under Liberal gov. 2008 - 7 boats = 161, 2007 5 boats = 148
To sum up 2009-to 2012 so far 290 boats = 16,072 ILLEGALS
2002 to 2008 25 boats = 449 ILLEGALS So where we heading ? Scary isn't it?

That's where you are wrong! Every time you buy a Halal certfied product, you are paying a 'tax' on top of the manufacturers profit. Halal certification earned Islam 2.9 TRILLION dollars this year, who do you think pays for that, the manufacturer? Wake up, all of that money is passed on to us.

I guess this symbol is on food for the same reason that we have HeartFoundation ticks, non-gmo, organic, kosher, gluten-free, 98% fat-free, wheat-free, sugar-free, no additives, no preservatives, 100% natural, suitable for diabetics, etc etc labels: so the consumer can decide it they want to buy (or not) the product.
