After reading a topic on the web i wanted to share what i found. Our government of the day sends overseas 3 billion dollars per year for support of 3rd world countries, why can't the Gov, stop sending for 1 yr and give all that money to Queensland, after all they do produce a huge amout of our fresh food and from what i have read some of those poor people have still not been given anything.I thought we used to take care of our people first then other folks next.

i agree with you on this ,i know they send money over to 3rd world countries ,im not saying they should not ,but it seems when we have any disaters or need it here the people who are waiting for their help seem to wait a long time for them to do any thing major i mean they give them a payment of 1000 dollars but when you have nothing left that amount doesnt help for long ,and then they have to wait for their insurances to pay them out,and that takes a long time some people are still waiting,i think the statment help our people first has gone by the wayside.

Yes, Nelly, I agree, and now the insurance companies are telling people to make sure they are fully covered - then up will go the premiums again!

I think most of it goes into lining the personal pockets of the totally corrupt govt's that the money goes to. Even if goods and infrastructure are given the corrupt still manage to get their hands on most of it.

Yes, Steve, we are always concerned about where our generous dollars are going. Obvious that much of them go to corrupt governments but still our inept government continues to donate our money - should be looking after our own people!!!

I totally agree with you, look after our own first! Once all is okay, worry about the rest later! Once the money goes overseas, it makes you wonder if it being used to help the people or used for making weapons to use later on!???
