Hi all

My daughter is now 17 months and i still cant lose the baby weight. I obivously lost some in the first couple of months then stoped and now ive actully gained weight to get back to pre baby weight i need to lose 10kgs im not signifantly overweight but id still like to get back to my pre baby weight/body.Ohh i have the ab circle pro and dnt notice any difference with that
Any ideas to help me ?????

I think there is too much expectation that you WILL go back to your pre baby figure. Your body has been through many changes, physically and hormonally. Things will never be the same again, and that may well be true regarding your body shape and size. I don't understand where the expectation that you should return to your previous figure came from (certainly a recent occurance). How about people just be happy and healthy and look after their children without worrying about some bizarre yummy mummy stereotype and unrealistic expectations.
And yes I have one child, I work part time, and I lost some and not all of my baby weight.

I'm like that I lost a whole lot of wieght after my second lil girl that was ab circle zumba and walking that helped me loose alot real fast but I gained it all back when I started to get too comfortable. Then I wasn't eating properly and really piled it all on. Maybe you just need to have a look at your diet and what exercises your doing.

well....with my first I was only 19 and shrunk back super fast but after that I have found it harder each time. with my second I breastfed and walked and drank lots of water and shook off more than the pregnancy weight. the third time I was 32 and it was awfully hard to remove it, I pretty much gave up after losing half of it, and just accepted my larger size. I still had extra when I got pregnant with my fourth, who was 11lb at birth. I almost didn't even bother to try, I just focused on being fit enough to keep up with them all and made sure I took all the good options, stairs instead of lift, walk instead of drive, whenever possible.
I think apart from a bit of excess flab I am pretty fit in general....BUT now I am 43 and pregnant with our fifth - gotta be the hardest age to be facing all that!
And after this one arrives I intend to take our dog on superlong daily walks - unhindered by other children as they will all be at school, and breastfeed for at least a year - if that has no effect, I am going to join a gym.
I think it all depends on how motivated you are, this time I am far more motivated as I know it is the last time and I really don't want a big blobby belly/thighs for the rest of my life.
Just aim to be healthy and give it all you've got if it means that much to you...

hi unfortunatly if it's ur 2nd or 3rd u'll find u probs wont ever get back to ur pre baby weight but if it is ur 1st it shouldent take that long after my 1st it took me 4 days and i was back to normal

Just move. Take a nice walk with bub in the pram, and around the house, just try to keep moving.IIf you find yourself sitting on the lounge doing nothing, get up and clean something or walk around the yard, it's the simple things that work sometimes. Just don't get stressed about it, cause it does make it harder. Don't snack too much and when you do, dont do it with chocolate. It took 2 years before my baby weight finally decided to budge.

i am in the same boat, i have just started today by cutting down the junk. but i did find after my first baby when i walked for about half hour with bubs in pram i really noticed a difference, or go to areobics twice a week, that helped me too.

Sorry to hear you're not too happy with your post baby weight.
Whilst I haven't had a baby myself, I am a personal trainer, so can give you a few tips. Firstly, you need to throw away your ab circle pro. These pieces of equipment are a waste of time and you will see no benefit from them what so ever. Weight loss is actually 70% of what you eat so you really need to make sure you are concentrating on a healthy eating plan. Cut out the refined sugar, alcohol and processed food and stick to a diet of lots of fruit, vegetables and high protein foods. Obviously you can have a treat once or twice a week but just don't overdo it.

With regards to your fitness, you need to get to a gym and get yourself a weight program. The best way to lose weight is by building muscle. Don't worry, you will never 'bulk' up and become overly muscly because females don't have enough testosterone in their systems to get huge. Just stick to 2 to 3 times a week and do cardio on the alternative days. Also try and do some yoga if you can!
I appreciate you have a baby so it's not always that easy to get to the gym, so if you are going to to just a few things, the most important is weight training. The more muscle we build the more fat we burn. By running on a treadmill you will speed up your metabolism for only 2 hours. When you do a weights session you speed up your metabolism for up to two days...I know what I'd rather be doing!
Go to your local gym and ask a gym instructor to create a weights program for you. They should do it for you for free and you can update it once every 6 weeks or so, just so you don't get too bored with the program.

I hope that has helped you a little bit! Once you find the love for exercise and turn it into a habit, you will be addicted and never look back!

Hi Rainbow. Iam a mother of two children under 2, my husband leaves for work at 5.00 am and doesn't get home until 5.30 - 6.00 pm everyday. My children r feed at 5.00 and they go to bed at 7.00pm. Iam in bed by 7.30. Iam totally exhausted and we don't have the funds to go to a gym. I have a spinal injury and a bugered knee that needs surgery but we can't afford it. I have no family where we live. Is there any exercises that I could do during the day at hm that might be of benefit.

Thank you i think i will try that :) ive never been to the gym before so it might be really hard to get into and im superrr unfit lol ive never been excatly fit i know some gyms have baby watching service soo hopefully i can find one :) thanks
