Hello GoodGirl,
I hope you don't mind me joining your segent,
Your Rice dish sounds great! I'll be doing rice tomorrow for dinner, but I'll be doing a DEADLY Sausage Curry. I will, however, try doing my Rice the way you avised Palls.
I don't have a Rice Cooker. What I do is add 1/2 cup of Rice to a small pan, a Teaspoon of Salt, and cover it with a Cupful of water, or enough water to reach the first joint of my finger.
The heat is put on to HIGH, and, as it begins to heatt up, I give it stir to make sure none of the rice is stuck to the bottom ofn the pan.
In no time, it wll be Boiling, and it is then that I furn the Heat OFF. I tilt the pan slightly and lower, prepeatedly until the bubbling has slowed right down. Then I just slap a lid on the pan and. . . FORGET IT!
This is usually done in the Morning when I have my Brekkie. I also peal and cut up the potatoes for the curry, too, then salt and water them ready for later.
Around 4 pm, with the Pre-cooked Rice in a bowl in the oven (NO HEAT ON), I then put the Potatoes on to cook, then prepare my Curry.
If you or anyone would like to know my Recipe/s, Please do me a reply? Ta! They're very easy and I may be able to help you save Power and Time in the process.
Have Fun! And Thanks for your great hints.
