By their actions Steve Smith and his team have managed to undo in one day what it has taken Australian cricket years to achieve. Because of this I strongly feel that the whole team starting with CEO James Sutherland (who has handled the whole affair quite badly) needs to be sacked and a completely new team formed if Australia is to ever regain any sort of credibility on the world stage

For a long time Cricket has been run too much like a business, and too little like a sport.
The results you get are the ones you incentivise.
The saying
"it's not whether you win or loose, but how you play the game"
has been replaced with.
"It's not how you play the game, but how much you can earn"
Remuneration and incentives are down to management.
Sportsmanship struggles to compete against a big bonus or other financial reward.
But hey, CEO's have found a great way to justify their own big fat pay check and at the same time push responsibility down the line.
Time for senior management to fall on their sword, tell us what they should have done better, and show us how to play the game.
