Thank you for your reply. I do walk on most days for approx 45 minutes, sometimes more (but not on rainy or very hot days - unless I go just after it is light - it is not safe to walk around here after dark) I either steam all of my vegetables (including green ones) or combine them with lean skinned diced chicken breast in a casserole. Initially I wasn't allowed any grain, dairy and only allowed restricted amount low carb. low sugar content fruit and I did shed weight but I got constipated. I now eat porridge for breakfast with diced pear in it (which is still crisp when my porridge is cooked -it gives a little sweetness) I make the porridge with half water, half semi-skim milk. I did go to some sites on Google and got lists of protein, carbohydrates (both types), fat and salt in fruit and vegetables. I also check the nutritional values on any "suitable" recipes that I find on-line I have noticed that some of the recipes are low in some things but high in salt. I will check the site again to see if any of the things I recorded have been amended.
