Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

I think some of the Home brands are very much maligned. We have been buying Coles Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies for quite a while and to me they are every bit as good or better than some of the well known Brands. They are full of Choc chips, are crispy and fresh and just melt in your mouth. Their value is fabulous as they cost $3.99 for a large pack of 400 grms. We've tried lots of other brands and we'll stick to these. Unfortunately there are other items I can no longer buy and still haven't been able to find substitutes as good. Green Valley Spanish Black Olives for instance although Sandhurst is not a bad alternative I suppose. So often products disappear even after being available for many years and never ever come back again.
