I think it really depends so can be of equal quietly but most home brands can't compete with name brands for example I couldn't find the strawberry jam I normally get so I thought I'd try a home brand it was a lot cheaper but the quality wasn't up to scratch I still ate it and I didn't regret buying it but I decided I wouldn't buy it again on the other end of the scale I saw some super fancy jam on sale and thought I'd give it a try I found the quality was great the best jam I have ever had it had 55% real fruit compered to the home brand which only had 30% real fruit on the other hand the fancy stuff was about 3 time the price of the home brand so I think it's real up to you is the quality worth the price you decide
