Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

I find some of the home brands not nearly as good. Often the goods are somewhat "watered down" compared to the original brands I would buy, though the home brands may be a little cheaper the product is in fact, not as good. Lacking in quality. I was searching for a particular product at my usual supermarket recently to find it had just disappeared off the shelf! No longer stocked, but a home brand replacing it was not even the same product. Really disappointed. I would rather pay more for quality goods.
