Anyone ever visited Alaska? We are interested in taking the Marine Highways ship down along the coast, with stops along the way, and ending up near Vancouver or Victoria Island. Would really really love to hear from anyone who has visited any part of Alaska and particularly what time of the year is recommended. We certainly don't want to go in the middle of winter!

I lived in Alaska, Benji, and it's definitely a trip worth making! The cruise is fantastic, you'll get to see the glaciers. Also, if you possibly could do the rail trip over the Rockies through Banff National Park you won't be disappointed! It's worth the extra time. Summertime is June, July, August, but in Autumn (September-October) you'd also experience the gorgeous colours changing. Happy Travels!
