Do you wish Christmas would come and go quickly or do you look forward to it with great enthusiasm? Do you believe Christmas has lost its meaning given all the materialistic connotations associated with it or does it still have a special place in your heart?

I love Christmas putting up the tree with my daughter and decorating the whole house with lights and hand painted decorations that my sister has given me over the years as presents,we play Christmas carols while doing it and sing along with them,we have done this since she was small and now she is 29. I also love to cook Christmas cake and short bread, i always give short bread as presents to friends with there cards and give it to my doctors and there staff to say thank you for that year,i also give the shot bread to members of the family as well as there Christmas presents they all love it . I love to cook the traditional hot Christmas lunch which my one is roast pork ,roast chicken with french herb stuffing roasted vegetables with apple sauce and gravy . I set the table with a Christmas cloth and use my Old Country Roads dinner set which i have salt and pepper shakers as well and use my grand parents cutlery set which i only use on special occasions . We also have an open house to any one who dose not have someone to spend the day with,i grew up doing this as a child with my parents ,brothers, and sisters we could have up to four or five other people that had no family to be with our house was always full and we always had a wonderful time,so now i do the same for lunch or tea. We also have Christmas breakfast with the next door neighbours, i introduced them to my family tradition of stewed cherries for breakfast and even though they have moved they already rang and asked if they could still come for Christmas breakfast this year. So Christmas still has a very special place in my heart and always will and i hope my two children will carry on with the tradition when they get married and have a family .
