Yeah I remember those days too. However unfortunatelly the older generation in my family is diminishing and it is now for me i guess to try and get my teenage kids to get involved. My 18 yr old is still ok to make his pav from scratch which he was so passionate about last yr. however my elder one who took on the ham is now lazy and not interested this yr even though last yr he was a great success. My 15 yr old daughter is compassionate and full of ideas however her ideas to me are too much tooo much to the extreme. i would like to do it just simple. my elderly parents dont eat much and dont expect anything, I do however like to make xmas and a family gathering special. My 18 yr old has suggested some alternative for nibbles and to date is quite willing to prepare as long as i have the ingredients. one of his suggestions were jatz biscuits with phily cream cheese, smoked salmon and some lettuce nicely prepared, other a nicely peeled prawn, phily and lemon on the side.
