Hi Ace, Folks,
This is my second open discussion in Cafe Chat site since signing up this morning, and, this happens to be one of my favourite Meal times.
Good old Brekkie! As we all know, its Summer right now, which for me means Kornies, Skippy's, Vita Brits, All Bran, Sultana Bran, and most popular Breakfast Cereals.
At the moment, in the mornings I am having Weet Bix BITES "Crunchy Honey". Like all my other Cereals Breakfasts, I enjoy my Cereal with Banana. Unfortunately, the Honey Bites don't last very long, and when they've run out, my next Breakfast cereal will be SKIPPY Cornflakes.
For those of you who are familiar with the WEET BIX "Collector's Cans", I have one to keep my Cereals fresh. I will be emptying a packet of skippy's into the plastic bag in the can and adding a packet of Cranberries, and mixing them in. When I have my cereal in the morning, I add a TEASPOONFUL of Raw Sugar, and chop up a Banana before adding my Milk. Yummm!
The other thing I have, a sort of early Breakfast, when I get up at 6 am to catch the early News on TV and the BREAKFAST Programme, is two slices of Wholemeal Toast with Marmalade and a nice hot Cuppa. Dilmah of course. at 7 am its back to bed for an hopur or so, then I get up for my Skippy's.
I Winter, its the same routine, except I have Porrige instead ofthe Skippy's, because of the cold.
I quite enjoy the UNCLE TOBY'S Sachets with Honey. As well as those, I also get a bag of HARRAWAY'S Whole Grain Oats.
To make it easy, and a "One Pot" Brekkie, I put one sachet of Uncle Toby's into a Bowl, and add 1/2 a cup of Wholegrain Oats. Then I add a 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt and a Level Soupspoonful of Raw Sugar. I mix it all in while the jug is boiling, and add a small knob of butter, not quite a Teaspoonful, and a small splash of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I then add the just boiled water, completely covering it. Then mix it all together, and cover it with a small plate and leave it on the table while I go and feed my cat and do my cuppa.
By the time I've taken care of Charlie's Brekkie, and done my Cuppa, I take the plate off the bowl and the Porrige is all nicely cooked and showing no trace of the water. I give it another good mix to make sure its all nice and smooth, add a splash of Milk and get stuck in. HOWZAT! Mmmm! Bloody Loovly Lud!
When we were kids, we used to get up to the smell of Eggs and Bacon cooking and and the sound of Porrige blooping away in the huge pot. Yes, I miss it, but to do it myself would take up too much time. So, these days I tend to keep it simple, and its still a very nice Breakfast. I used my last Apricot up with this morning's brekkie. I had that as well as the banana.
Anyone else enjoy a lovely brekkie similar to mine?
