If you want to go somewhere truly different, visit an Eastern country. We have been to Japan twice. Totally different to anything you have experienced. The manners, politeness and etiquette of the people is unlike anywhere else. The world is such a melting pot but there are few foreigners in Japan so it's interesting to have many eyes on you. They are perfectionists so meals are a work of art, packages are wrapped and presented exquisitely, little crime or graffiti. Don't go if you are a steak and three veg type person, meat costs a bomb!
