Vietnam! I would love to hear from anyone who has done this trip as an independant traveller. Hubby and I like to experience local culture and are prepared to backpack as you meet interesting people and see more

Thanks heaps everyone.....it is great to have sites to get good info!! We have booked our flight for 17 July to Hanoi and will work our way south over 2 weeks. Does anyone have an idea of the price/details of the Reunification express train, do you need to buy ticket to Hue/Hoi An separate to Hoi An /Saigon? Yes, I am a keen bargainer as we have family in Bali who get cranky when I haven't bargained properly and paid too much!! oops I think I have hit the wrong button, but will post anyway. Will get back to you re guide etc
