Hi mummy,
I don't know how many people like Pea and Ham soup, I find it easy in winter.
Bacon bones or Hocks depends what you prefer. In your slow cooker add 1kg of Bacon bones,2 large onions diced,500gm bag of YELLOW split peas and enough water to cover, approx an inch or 25mms from top.
Set on auto or slow then let simply cook until the meat comes off the bones and peas have turned to a nice thick golden liquid. Don't forget to stir occasionally so that the soup doesn't stick to the bottom of your pot. I also add a few chunky chopped carrots but not to everyones taste.
My mother used to cook this on the old wood stove when we were young and now it is so much easier in a slow cooker. Serve with nice chunky pieces of bread.
Enjoy
